Adele career during the year 2011

February 5 : Adele topped the UK LP
charts for 18 weeks with 21.
February 12: Adele topped the Billboard
Triple A Tracks chart for 14 weeks with
" Rolling In The Deep."
February 20: 19 was certified gold.
February 22: Adele released 21 in the US
(available for download at iTunes and
Amazon-mp3 ). The LP was released in
Europe a month earlier. 21 hit #1 in
Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada,
Holland, Finland, France, Germany,
Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland,
and Switzerland, and the Top 10 in
Argentina, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Poland,
Spain, and Sweden.
February 26: Adele topped the UK
singles chart for 5 weeks with "Someone
Like You ." The song also topped the
charts in Australia, Ireland, Scotland,
and New Zealand.
March 5: Adele hit the ARC Weekly Top
40 with " Rolling In The Deep."
March 12: Adele topped the Billboard 200
LP chart, Top Digital Albums chart, and
Top Internet Albums chart with 21. The
LP sold over 352,000 copies its first week
of release in the US. 21 jumped in and
out of the top spot on the album charts
for 12 weeks into August.
March 17: 19 was certified platinum.
March 28: 21 was certified platinum.
April : Adele topped the singles chart in
Belgium, the Netherlands, and Poland
with "Set Fire To The Rain."
April 28: Adele appeared on the cover of
Rolling Stone and proclaimed in the
interview: "I don't make music for eyes,
I make music for ears."
May 7: Adele hit the Top 10 with "Rolling
In The Deep."
May 7: Adele topped the Billboard Hot
Digital Tracks chart for 8 weeks and
the Rock Digital Songs chart for 15
weeks with "Rolling In The Deep."
May 14: Adele topped the Billboard Adult
Top 40 Tracks chart for 13 weeks with
" Rolling In The Deep."
May 21: Adele topped the Billboard Hot
100 chart for 7 weeks and Hot Digital
Songs chart for 6 weeks with " Rolling In
The Deep ." The song also topped the
charts in Belgium, Brazil, Canada,
Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and
Switzerland.
May 17: 21 was certified 2x platinum.
June 3: Adele had to cancel tour dates
in North America after coming down
with laryngitis.
June 4: Adele hit #1 for 5 weeks on the
ARC Weekly Top 40 with " Rolling In The
Deep ."
June 11: Adele topped the Billboard
Radio Songs chart for 6 weeks and Pop
Songs chart for 6 weeks with " Rolling In
The Deep ."
July 2 : Adele topped the Billboard Adult
Contemporary chart with "Rolling In
The Deep ."
July 14 : Adele digitally released the EP
iTunes Festival: London 2011 (available
for download at iTunes). The EP was
recorded at The Roundhouse in London.
July 27 : 21 was certified 3x platinum.
August 6 : Adele topped the Billboard
Triple A Tracks chart for 1 week with
" Rumour Has It."
August 20: Adele hit the Top 40 with
" Someone Like You."
August 28: The video for " Rolling In The
Deep " won 3 MTV Video Music Awards
including Best Art Direction, Best
Editing , and Best Cinematography , and
was nominated for Video of the Year,
Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, and
Best Direction.
September 17: Adele topped the
Billboard Hot 100 chart with " Someone
Like You ." The track also topped the
Billboard Hot Digital Songs, Hot Digital
Tracks, Rock Digital Songs charts.
September 24: Adele hit the Top 10 with
" Someone Like You."
October: Adele had to cancel several
sold-out dates of her US tour due to a
vocal chord hemorrhage. By the end of
the month, it was determined that
Adele would have throat surgery and
cancelled the remaining tour dates.
October 3 : 21 was certified 4x platinum.
October 22 : Adele hit #1 for 4 weeks on
the ARC Weekly Top 40 with " Someone
Like You ."
November 20 : Adele won 3 American
Music Awards including Favorite Pop/
Rock Female Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock
Album ( 21), and Favorite Adult
Contemporary Artist, and was
nominated for Artist of the Year.
November 29 : Adele released the DVD/
CD set Adele Live At The Royal Albert
Hall from a September 22nd
performance.
December 2 : 21 was certified 5x
platinum.
December 3 : Adele topped the Billboard
Adult Contemporary chart with
" Someone Like You."
December 3 : Adele hit the Top 40 with
" Set Fire To The Rain."
December 31 : Adele hit the Top 10 with
" Set Fire To The Rain."
December 31 : Adele topped the ARC
Weekly Top 40 Top Pop Song of 2011 with
" Rolling In The Deep."
December 31 : 21 was the top-selling LP
of the year with 5.8 million copies sold.
